Hebrew fonts

If you don't see Hebrew - עברית - in your browser, first, make sure you have set the correct character encoding. Click on View > (Character) Encoding > Unicode (UTF-8). If that does not work, you probably don't have Hebrew Unicode fonts installed. Though, if you are using a recent version of Windows, Hebrew Unicode fonts should already be installed on your system.

If you suspect that fonts are not installed, here is what to do. This page lists lots of Hebrew Unicode fonts, some of which are completely free. One example of a good free font is Ezra SIL. Download it. It is probably compressed. Uncompress it. (Run it through a program like WinZip. Or, if it's a self-extracting archive, just double click on it.) Now, you have to install the resultant font file on your system.

In Windows XP, go to Start > Control Panel or My Computer > Control Panel. There, double click on Fonts. This will open the Fonts folder. Drag and drop the Hebrew font that you just extracted into the folder. It should now appear in the Fonts folder, with all the other fonts. You might have to close your browser and reopen it for it to recognize the newly installed font.

See? It's that easy!
